Aave calls on members to commit to the Ethereum PoS chain

The result will give a good indication of the position of AAVE token holders ahead of the next ETH hard fork.

Aave calls on members to commit to Ethereum PoS chain New

Holders of Aave tokens have been invited to participate in an Aave Request for Comments (ARC) that would require them to "commit" to Ethereum's Proof-of-Stake (PoS) consensus.

The ARC, proposed on August 16, comes in light of Ethereum's upcoming transition to proof-of-stake. It calls on members to select the Ethereum mainnet operating under PoS consensus as the new "canonical" governance system, while also empowering an authority to stop any Aave deployment on all alternative Ethereum forks.

The proposal will soon be made on the Aave DAO, which allows Aave token holders to vote on software developments and updates to the AAVE protocol.

As noted on Aave's governance website, the proposal includes two main specifications. First, members will officially signal that the Aave DAO deployed on the Ethereum Mainnet PoS consensus is the "canonical governance [mechanism]" of the Aave DAO and Aave marketplaces.

Second, a signal will give the Community Guardian the power to stop any Aave deployments on any other forks resulting from the Ethereum merger.

The outcome of the governance vote should give a good indication of where Aave members stand on the transition from Ethereum to PoS.

In the report, Aave also stated that its code is “fully functional” with the Ethereum consensus change, which was made by...
