Adamawa youth join Obi's LP in droves

Thousands of young people took over the main streets of Yola, Adamawa State yesterday in support of Labor Party (LP) presidential candidate Peter Obi.

Shops along the popular Atiku Abubakar road were closed, as shopkeepers came out to cheer on young people and women, who carried placards with inscriptions asking for support for Obi's presidential ambition .

The spokesperson for the group known as the Coalition of All Peter Obi's Campaign Supporters, Jeremiah Peter, told reporters that the tour was intended to inform the people of Adamawa that only Obi had the key to save the children of the poor.

According to him, the choice of Obi is based on his skill, qualifications and age, which he believes are the qualities that set him above the other competitors.

He urged Nigerians to vote for the candidates based on their qualifications and not on their ethnic, regional or religious affiliation. Jérémie pointed out that the presentation tour also aimed to raise awareness among the inhabitants of Adamaoua on the importance of registering for the Permanent Voter's Card (PVC) to enable them to elect the leaders of their choice.

He advised voters not to sell their votes, stressing that their children and grandchildren would suffer the consequences of any selfish action.
