Adele joins James Corden for the final Carpool Karaoke

Adele joined James Corden for the latest Carpool Karaoke in his final week as host of The Late Late Show.

The singer appeared to surprise Corden at his Los Angeles home, waking him up by banging cymbals above his bed.

He then agreed to let her drive him to work at CBS Studios, despite her admission: "I'm actually not a brilliant driver."

Along the way, they discussed their friendship at length and shed tears over his decision to return to the UK.

"It's been a crazy eight years," Corden said. "In one way I feel like it's gone like this [finger clicks] and in another I feel like I can't remember what life was like before I was here. "

Adele added, "I've never lived in LA without you so I'm a little nervous about it, to be honest with you, and very, very sad."

Corden was unknown to American viewers when he took over The Late Late Show in 2015, replacing Scottish-American comedian Craig Ferguson.

Carpool Karaoke quickly became the show's hit, and Corden's first team-up with Adele became the biggest viral video of 2016. to date, it has amassed over 260 million views.
