Adrienne Bailon and Israel Houghton's love story is straight out of a movie

The love story of Adrienne Bailon and Israel Houghton is one for the books. Similar to fellow celebrity sweethearts Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker, Bailon, 38, and Houghton, 51, were friends for years before their relationship turned romantic. "When he officially divorced and started dating again, I immediately started hooking him up with my friends," Bailon told People in 2016. "He didn't think they would want to date him but I said, 'Don't be stupid. You have a big smile, you're successful, you're kind, super witty, funny and smart. Of course they'll date you.'"

Despite Bailon's attempts to find a match for Houghton, neither date was successful. "A while later we were sitting together in the corner at a party and a friend of ours came over and said, 'You have an old love,'" Bailon recalled. "My friend said to me, 'You have to kiss her. You can just be friends, but you'll know if it's meant to be over the moment you kiss her.' And now we're getting married, so you can see how that kiss went."

The TV personality and Gospel singer tied the knot in a lavish wedding in Paris in November 2016. "I feel so blessed and grateful," Bailon told People of her wedding. "Honestly, I've never been happier in my entire life. I've never felt the way I'm feeling right now. I can't even describe what it's like, but it's such a blended peace to total excitement." In August 2022, the couple welcomed their first child together via surrogate, a baby boy named Ever James. Houghton is also the father of children Maria, Sonny, Milan and Jordan Houghton.
