Akwa Ibom: Governor Emmanuel inaugurates PDP guber campaign council, warns against slander and hate speech

Governor Udom Emmanuel of Akwa Ibom State has inaugurated a Governorate Campaign Council and Committees of the People's Democratic Party, PDP, in the state for the 2023 general elections.

During the inauguration of the council, the Umo Eno/Akon Eyankeyi campaign organization was tagged at the campaign secretariat, Ewet Housing Estate Uyo; the governor urged members to adhere to thematic campaigns devoid of slander, vitriol, slander and violence, while urging opponents to reciprocate.

Gov. Emmanuel expressed hope that party standard bearer Pastor Umo Eno would do more than him when elected, stressing, "He who comes after me is greater than me."

He also urged the members of the PDP to work as hard as they always have over the years to secure a resounding victory for the party.

“Focus on thematic campaigns devoid of slander, backbiting, vitriol and violence,” the governor warned.

Speaking after the inauguration, Managing Director of Campaign Organization Umo Eno/Akon Eyakenyi, Amb. Assam Assam SAN, assured that the campaigns would be free from violence, violence and other political vices.

In his remarks, the PDP gubernatorial candidate, Rev. Umo Eno, reiterated his determination to build on the strong foundations of the current administration to achieve his ARISE vision.

He has hinted to the public that his greatest motivation in public service has always been to bequeath an equal society to the young and unborn generations.

"We will make sure to lead an inclusive government, continue your legacy projects and ensure none of them suffer.

"We will take it to greater heights, we will add value to it. And we will ensure that the people of Akwa Ibom continue to benefit from the full value chain of these legacy projects, from air from Ibom to the deep water port of Ibom, through the roads leading to all the factories, we will continue to expand the scope of the value you have added to Akwa Ibom,” he said. .
