Alleged rape: arraignment stalled as doctor fails to appear in court

The impeachment of Femi Olaleye suffered a setback following his absence from the Sex Offenses and Domestic Violence Court in the Ikeja neighborhood of Lagos on Monday.

The defendant's lawyer, Babatunde Ogala, told the judge, Ramon Oshodi, that his client who is on administrative bail "is not in town".

The state government had planned to sue the medical director of the Optimal Cancer Care Foundation on Monday for the alleged desecration of a minor (name withheld).

Mr. Olaleye is facing two counts of defilement and sexual assault by penetration of his wife's niece.
