Ansar-Ud-Deen emphasizes investment in children's Islamic education

PARENTS and guardians were implored to invest in their children's Islamic education and not limit their exposure to Western education.

This charge was uttered in the Eighth Quran Walimotul of the Ansar-Ud-Deen Society of Nigeria, Ipaja, Lagos State Branch.

In a lecture titled "Islamic Education: Challenges and the Way Forward," Imam Qamarudeen Kolawole of Ansar-Ud-Deen Society, Agege Branch, said that Muslim parents are shepherds whom Allah will ask how they took care of the children put in their charge in terms of educating them in his own way.

Kolawole urged parents to create space for their children's Islamic and Arabic education, saying the idea of ​​leaving their education to teachers should be abandoned.

He also advised parents and teachers to respect the rights of children and find ways to train them to behave properly in society.

The branch president, Alhaji Kelani Adebisi Sanni, implored Muslims to take advantage of the opportunity offered by the Koranic school Ansar-Ud-Deen (Ipaja) to enroll their children in Islamic and Arabic education.

The chairman of the event, Alhaji Shakrudeen Onike, attributed the conversion of some Muslims to other religions to lack of knowledge of Islam.

He implored the parents of the graduating students not to stop their Islamic education just because they performed Quran Walimotul, saying they still have more to learn.

Ten students from the institute graduated at the ceremony. They are Abdul Haadi Uthman, Abdul Rahman Uthman, Raimot Bisiriyu, Huzeifa Adeyemo, Ishaq Ibraheem, Khaleed Ipaye and Haleemah Folarin.

The others are Moridiyat Hassan, Aishat Sholaja and Halimat Yusuf Odunewu.

A cross section of parents praised Madrassah head Ustaz Kamaldeen Yusuf and branch missionary Imam Abdul Rasaq Uthman for the successful completion of the first phase of children's Islamic education .
