Anti-party is consistent with Wike's political style - Osita Chidoka

Former aviation minister Osita Chidoka said endorsing candidates from other political parties is “consistent” with the political style of Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike.

Chidoka was speaking in reaction to Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwolu's endorsement for a second term by Wike.

Gov. Wike made the endorsement at a conference of the Lagos State Officials Spouses Committee in Lagos on Monday.

Speaking on Channels TV Politics Today on Tuesday, Chidoka, who is also a special adviser to People's Democratic Party presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar, said Wike did the same in the gubernatorial election of Anambra State.

According to Chidoka "It is not the first time he has done this. In Anambra, during the Anambra gubernatorial election, he did not support the PDP candidate. He said that it was against his conscience to fight against his friend who was running for governor.

"I think it fits his style and he's free to choose who he wants to support."

Chidoka further noted that it "is not morally right to carry the party flag. You served this government as a minister, you became a governor under the same PDP and now you support candidates in outside the PDP.

"I think there is a morality issue here".

The former minister also advised the PDP to find a way to deal with such behavior within the party.
