2023: Atiku will change the political fortunes of Nigeria – Tambuwal
Gov. Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto State says that the People's Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, is the only flag bearer who can positively change the political fortunes of Nigeria.
Tambuwal, the Director General of the PDP Presidential Campaign Council, made the claim during the party's campaign rally in Binji and Tangaza local government areas of the state on Tuesday.
According to him, Abubakar has devised viable strategies to end banditry, curb corruption, unemployment, address infrastructure decay and boost the socio-economic lives of Nigerians, among other issues.
"Therefore, we should all cast our votes for the President's PDP candidates in the State House of Assembly to enjoy the best Nigeria of our dreams.
"We must protect our permanent voter cards and avoid anyone who would use money to buy our votes for the better future of our country," he said.
The governor further urged the gathering to preserve its dignity, adding that under no circumstances should it allow itself to be used to undermine peaceful coexistence at the expense of violence and chaos.
Tambuwal warned young people against brutality saying, "You should ask any politician who invites you to political brutality to align yourself with his sons and daughters."
State PDP Chairman Alhaji Bello Goronyo thanked the people of the regions for their continued support for the party.
Bello received prominent members of other political parties who they said saw reason to move to the PDP alongside their supporters.
The president appreciated the wise decision of the newcomers, calling them partners in the making.
For his part, PDP gubernatorial candidate Malam Sa'idu Umar has pledged to uphold Tambuwal's legacy and vibrant style, if elected.
Director General of the State Campaign Council and former minister, Alhaji Yusuf Sulaiman, assured that the door of the PDP is open to all new entrants.
Sulaiman urged PDP supporters to exert more efforts to convince the people of the state of the party's success and support the door-to-door campaign in their respective regions.
