APC to declare state of emergency over declining education level in Oyo - Folarin

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has called the declining level of education in Oyo State unacceptable and has unveiled its plan to declare a state of emergency in the area.
The candidate for the post of governor of the party, Senator Teslim Folarin had in his manifesto unveiled his plan to overhaul the sector so that the State regains its place of choice in the sector.
Folarin, who remembers his accomplishments in the education sector as a legislator, said he would convene an education summit with the assemblage of reputable citizens who have achieved landmark achievements in the sector .
According to him, education will remain one of the pillars on which my administration will stand, if elected as the next Executive Governor of Oyo State on March 11, 2023.
The public education sector is crumbling and non-functional with an unimpressively low enrollment rate, poor infrastructure, an ineffective quality assurance process and a low national rating.

Our administration must reposition the sector and ensure the roll-out of the Education Reform Strategy (ERS).
There will be the convening of the Education Summit, the provision of adequate training and motivation for teachers, and the development of school infrastructure at all levels.
In addition, ICT will be a bedrock of the education sector with the creation of the Quality Assurance Agency for Better Academic Performance.
The manifesto also includes the repositioning of public higher education institutions as global centers of academic excellence through massive infrastructural development, mobilization of third-party resources, and international collaborations.
It is also added that the administration of APC will create an environment conducive to effective teaching and learning, as well as scholarships.
Folarin also assured the people of the regular payment of grants/grants to public schools and the eradication of counseling policy in higher education.
It will be recalled that the CPA gubernatorial candidate as legislator has facilitated among others 88 fully furnished classrooms, 17 state-of-the-art ICT centers in the central senatorial districts of Oyo and the University of Ibadan.
His achievements also include the construction of classroom blocks at St John Anglican Primary School in Apatere, Origi Primary School, Surulere LGA Primary School and Surulere LGA Primary School. 'Olubode, at Olubode in Ona Ara LGA.
