Arsenal discuss signing Sergej Milinkovic-Savic

Arsenal have held talks over signing Sergej Milinkovic-Savic from Lazio during the summer transfer window, according to Calciomercato. The Italian media report claimed that Lazio sporting director Igli Tare visited London at the end of June and held talks with Arsenal over a transfer for the 27-year-old Serbian international midfielder.

There are two issues for a potential deal, according to Calciomercato. Milinkovic-Savic does not want to move to Arsenal immediately, and Lazio president Claudio Lotito is asking for at least 70-80 million euros in transfer fees for the midfielder.

Milinkovic-Savic has been on Lazio's books since 2015 and has established himself as an important player for the team. The Serbian is also considered one of the best midfielders in Italy.

Milinkovic-Savic made 36 starts and one appearance as a substitute in Serie A for Lazio last season, scoring 11 goals and providing 11 assists.

The experienced midfielder also made four starts and four substitute appearances in the Europa League last season, scoring one goal and providing one assist.
