Dear Nigerians, we are currently at a crossroads and one wrong decision could spell the loss of this great nation forever. Nigeria is struggling with many problems at the moment. We have banditry and terrorism ravaging many cities in the north, militants attacking oil installations and bringing the country's economy to its knees in the Niger Delta while secessionists hold the southeast hostage. It would be a huge disaster to add state-sponsored drug trafficking to that.

It is no longer news that Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), has direct ties to the drug lords and has been used as a conduit to launder their funds.< /p>

Court records show that Nigerian drug kingpin Adegboyega Muiz Akande ran an elaborate network of heroin traffickers in Chicago, Illinois in the 1980s. identity of others, including relatives who worked for Akande in various roles in the distribution organization. The investigation identified one of these individuals as Bola Tinubu," said Kevin Moss, an agent. special from the Inland Revenue Service.

Court records show that Akande took Tinubu to the First Heritage Bank where he opened an account for himself and his wife, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, in 1989. Tinubu revealed in documents that he was working with Mobil Nigeria Limited and his salary was $2,400 and he had no other source of income.

But records of his First Heritage Bank account showed that in 1990 Tinubu deposited $661,000 into his individual money market account and in 1991 deposited $1,216,500 into the same money market account . Mobil representatives told US authorities that although Tinubu was treasurer, he had no direct access to the company's cash and therefore could not deposit funds on behalf of the company.

Tinubu, the political Maradona, quickly struck a deal with US authorities and lost $460,000 to avoid jail time before returning to Nigeria. But that didn't change the fact that he was in cahoots with drug dealers and was their fundraiser.

Nigerian law is clear. Criminal cases have no statute of limitations and can be reopened at any time, including in the national interest. We hereby call on the National Narcotics Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) to immediately arrest Bola Ahmed Tinubu and prosecute him for drug trafficking. Besides the criminal aspect of this appeal, there is also the aspect of national security. The world will remember what happened to Panama when Manuel Noriega, a well-known drug lord, became president in 1983. During his six years of rule, Panama became a narcos state while Noriega became a ally of the famous Medellin cartel of Pablo Escobar.

In the unfortunate event of a Bola Tinubu presidency, Nigerians will be plunged into a drug crisis that would make the Colombian situation a breeze. With easy access to drugs, there will be an increase in violence. Nigerians cannot take that risk.

In fact, on March 20, 2021, NDLEA President Brig. General Buba Marwa (ret'd) said the South West had the highest drug abuse cases in the country at 22.4%. On October 28, 2021, Senior Staff Treatment and Rehabilitation Officer, NDLEA, Oyo State Command, Titilope Asiru said in Ibadan during a drug free symposium held for secondary school students that Lagos State had the highest prevalence of drug use in the South West and by extension, Nigeria which is at 33%. Curiously, it is the state that is run by a man who has been suspected of having drug ties since 1999. Nigerians are free to decide.
