Awolowo's political background drew me to politics —Ajadi

A stalwart of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) in Ogun State, Ambassador Olufemi Ajadi, said he joined politics to make a name for himself like Chief Obafemi Awolowo, who enshrined his life in the service of humanity.

He spoke at a public event on Monday, noting that the best approach to deal with the economic challenges facing the country is to diversify crude oil into other sectors like tourism, hospitality , energy and agriculture.

Ajadi said he had the capacity, quality and brilliance of governance to make Nigeria a better country rather than inflicting more hardship on the masses.

Ajadi said that if given the chance to lead the country, his administration would prioritize a people-centered agenda to help the less privileged, promising to improve education and health sectors. health, as well as tourism and hospitality, safety of life and property and improvement of the agricultural sector.

Ajadi said, "I have been a very successful person in the private sector. I am not an ordinary person but an extra ordinary person. I came to make a name for myself like the late wise chief Obafemi Awolowo, who , in his lifetime, gave to the masses and did not eat public funds. I don't know when I will leave, but as long as I live, all my efforts will be devoted to the masses and humanity.

"I want Nigeria to change the education of our children, the security of lives and property, by helping farmers, by helping those who are extremely poor, by prioritizing education, production of electricity so that we can have industrial growth.

"That's why I am, I am not like the others. I am a serious man. We are not poor by any means, we can bring prosperity to Nigeria.

"You know me, I don't break promises, I reward talent, our hard work reward system is going to change, the truth is if we don't bring smart, bright people to the position of leadership, those with the pedigree, Nigeria will continue to stagnate.

"Let's develop our tourism and hospitality sectors, energy to generate more income and create more jobs for unemployed young people.

Nigerians deserve stable electricity, good roads, they deserve better health and social services, all of this we can do with visionary leadership.”
