Baba Ijesha: I received death threats - Comedian Princess

Nigerian comedian and actress, Damilola Adekoya, popularly known as the princess, has said she received death threats after speaking out about her colleague, Olanrewaju Omiyinka aka Baba Ijesha.

Baba Ijesha was arrested and brought before the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offenses Court last year after being caught in an indecent position with a child on camera.

Princess, whose foster child was the victim in the case, noted that after she decided to take up the case, a bounty was placed on her life and she received threats of death.

She made this known in an interview with media personality, Chude Jideonwo, which was published on Thursday evening, after Baba Ijesha's sentencing.

Baba Ijesha was sentenced on Thursday after facing six counts of child desecration, including indecent treatment of a child, sexual assault, attempted penetrative sexual assault and penetrative sexual assault.< /p>

Judge Taiwo Oluwatoyin found the defendant guilty of two of the six charges against him and sentenced him to 16 years in prison, adding that the sentence will run concurrently for five years.

Speaking in the video released on Thursday evening, the comedian noted that she had earlier regretted speaking out about the case.

When asked if she felt regret, the princess replied, "Now I don't regret it, but for the first two or three weeks I did."

She noted that she felt regret because "they put a price on my head. They wanted to kill me."

The Princess added, "Some people I respected so much, I found out they were the ones pushing him (Baba Ijesha).

After the sentence, the comedian took to her Instagram page to write, "God is not a man," as she shared a video of herself praising God.
