'Bad since '97', 'Calm Down with Selena Gomez' other hot music releases this week

It's the last week of August, and Nigerian afrobeats artists aren't holding back with great music.

Albums and singles from previous weeks are still on the charts and fighting for the top spot. More of Nigeria's best have arrived this weekend with tracks for every mood.

BNXN, Chike and Rema, among others, dominate this week with their music.

BAD SINCE 1997

Buju to your ears. Nigerian artist BNXN (FKA Buju) has released an EP, 'Bad, since '97.

His seven-track EP, released on Thursday, is already climbing the charts. Previously number one on Apple's Top 100 in Nigeria, it also debuted on the Apple charts in the United States and United Kingdom, respectively.

BNXN features three of Nigeria's hottest artists, Olamide, Wizkid and Wande Coal, on this EP. In an Instagram post, he said Loose Emotions was his favorite track on the EP.

His brother's keeper

Chike has released their long-awaited album "Brothers Keeper". His album contains features from Flavor, Ycee and Azana.

Croner Boo of the Booles released his 16-track album earlier this week. His song with Flavor "Had to find" was the most played on his album.

TEXEM Advert Bayani

On Thursday, Mavin's newest signee, Bayanni, released his debut EP, "BAYANNI." His self-titled project contains four songs introducing his music to Nigerians. The titles "Body" and "Family" weigh heavily on the charts as they climbed to number two in Apple's Top 10.

Tune in with Dj Tunez

Michael Adeyinka, popularly known as Dj Tunez, has a new EP titled "Cruise control Vol 1." released Thursday midnight.

His EP contains five tracks with features from Wizkid Wande Coal, Victony, AV, Mohbad, Rexxie, Alpha P, Tay Iwor, Projexx and Brume.

As of press time, the songs 'Majo', 'Bad Girl' and 'Fire Di party' have started to top the Apple and Spotify charts.

Singles and Collabos of the week

Rapper Olamide released his single "we outside" on Thursday. The YBNL boss released this solo project with little to no publicity.

Closely following, Rema landed an international collaboration with Selena Gomez on the song "Calm Down." The track responded to Nigerians who questioned their subtle romance on his show the week before.

The remix of "Calm down" peaked at 56 on the Billboard Global Exclusive US Chart. It also peaked at number 7 on Billboard US Afrobeats Songs.

Zinoleesky, who just released "Jaiye Foreign" earlier this month with Tiwa Savage, isn't backing down as he's released another single, "Call of Duty."

Ckay the Boy wonder, with his previous album crossing over 200 million streams on Spotify, released a single "YOU" earlier this morning.

New sounds come from Artists-WhoisAkin and Erigga; Whoisakin released the track "Damaged", and Erigga released a track titled "Vawulence".

Ogranya features Johnny Drille on 'I'm Sorry'. I'm sorry

Arya Starr also featured on Jamaican legend (Bob Marley) Grandson-Skip Marley on the song "Jane".

DJ Neptune released new sounds with artist Simba (S1mba) on the track called "grinding".
