Bandits kidnap seven-month-old baby and five others in Kaduna

Bandits invaded Tabanni village of Birnin Gwari local government area in Kaduna State on Friday afternoon and abducted six people.

This was revealed by Birnin Gwari Emirate Progressive Union (BEPU) President, Ishaq Usman Kasai in an interview.

He said, "Three married women, a teenage girl, an adult, and a seven-month-old baby have been confirmed to have been abducted."

According to him, the bandits arrived at the village without firing any shots and took the victims away saying, "many villagers were not even aware of what had happened in their community".< /p>

The community leader lamented that the old and new villages of Tabanni are still under threat of bandit attacks.

“Many of our residents in these two communities as well as surrounding areas have become internally displaced. Every day people are leaving their homes,” he said.

He said he was appalled at the plight of the people, saying, "The information we got was that since 6:30 p.m., in the rain, people, mostly women and children, were moving towards areas security."

Kasai remarked that "we will not stop calling on the government to come to the aid of the internally displaced as many are homeless."

At the time the report was filed, there were no government or police statements.
