Betano awarded Copa do Brasil naming rights in 3-year deal

December 7 - FIFA's premier betting sponsor Betano has added Copa do Brasil naming rights to its sponsorship portfolio.

The Copa do Brasil is the Brazilian national cup competition played by 92 teams, representing the 26 Brazilian states plus the Federal District. Betano, under a deal brokered by trade agency Brax, owns the naming rights until 2025.

Betano isn't the only betting brand to partner with the Copa do Brasil. The Curacao registered brand Betnacional has a smaller sponsorship based on advertising exposure through the competition.

Brax said he is pursuing a non-exclusive sponsorship program for the competition and expects other betting brands to join as bookmaking activity picks up in Brazil.< /p>

Just before the start of the World Cup, Betano broke new ground with FIFA by becoming an official regional partner of the event, the first time the world governing body adopted sponsorship by a betting company.

Betano also has sponsorship partnerships with Fluminense and Atlético Mineiro in Brazil; Club Universidad de Chile and CD La Serena in Chile; FCSB and Universitatea Craiova in Romania; Olympiacos and PAOK FC in Greece, and FC Porto, Sporting CP and SL Benfica in Portugal.

No value was given for the Copa do Brasil agreement.
