Blame yourself for your loss, PDP leader tells Nnamani

A former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Auditor, Ray Nnaji, has called on former Enugu State Governor Chimaroke Nnamani to act with decorum and blame himself for his defeat in the Senate elections last Saturday in Enugu East.

Nnaji said he would have been surprised if Nnamani, who he said ran without a political party, had won the election, pointing out that Nnamani had failed in the election even before the first vote is taken.

Nnaji, a lawyer and former state commissioner under the Nnamani administration, said throwing punches and accusations at Enugu State Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, the PDP and even the candidate Labor Party (LP) presidential leader Peter Obi and his supporters following his defeat in the senatorial elections would expose him to more ridicule and portray him as someone without shame.

Nnaji said, "You should understand the kind of person Nnamani is. His failure makes him feel bad. Unfortunately, he didn't realize he had failed even before the election. I thought that he would have referred to me, because I was the one who started the process that led to his expulsion. He had failed above all. He ran for election without a platform, because the party had no candidate for senatorial election from Enugu East."

On the allegation that Ugwuanyi contributed to his failure, Nnaji said, “He is supposed to thank Ugwuanyi for bringing him back after being in limbo for a long time. didn't use it well. He should refrain from these attacks, as they tend to destroy him the more he has any credibility left."
