BREAKING: We will review Court of Appeals decision, decide next action - ASUU

The University Academic Staff Union, ASUU, has said it will review the Court of Appeal judgment that ordered the union to end its strike, to determine its next course of action.< /p>

DAILY POST had reported that the appeals court on Friday ordered the union to return to work, as the National Labor Court had previously ordered with immediate effect.

Reacting to the new court ruling, ASUU President Prof. Emmanuel Osodeke told DAILY POST that the union has yet to officially receive the Court of Appeals decision.

He said the union, after receiving the judgment, would review the document with its lawyers and decide on its next course of action.

He said, 'We haven't received the decision, when we get it we'll review it with our lawyer and then we can take the next step.'

DAILY POST recalls that the federal government, following its inability to reach a truce with the university professor, took ASUU to the National Labor Court on September 11.

On September 24, the court ordered striking teachers back to class while negotiations with the federal government continue.

Vexed by the decision, the union went to the Court of Appeal to appeal the decision.
