Britney Spears' first husband was convicted of trespassing and assault after showing up unannounced at the American singer's wedding in June.

Jason Alexander, 40, has accepted the charges. A judge sentenced him to 64 days - the time he has already served.

He was attacked by security after breaking up the marriage between Spears and his longtime partner, Sam Asghari.

Alexander was married to the pop star, a childhood friend, in 2004. But the union was called off after 55 hours.

Spears, 40, and Asghari, 28, were married in a private ceremony at her home in Ventura County, California June 9.

But preparations were disrupted by Alexander's arrival. Shortly before, he posted an Instagram Live story in which he said he was here to "crush" the wedding.

His video showed him walking through Spears' house looking for her, then entering a marquee where the finishing touches were made to a large display of roses.

He claimed that Spears l invited, saying, "She's my first wife, my only wife." Alexander was arrested and taken to a local jail.

'He was able to find his way onto the property and was confronted by security,' a doorman says -word of the police at the time.

"An altercation occurred with the security officers and that's where the battery went occurred...and during the altercation an object was broken, so that's where the vandalism at play comes from."
