Brixton Academy is to reopen for the first time since a crush that left two dead in December 2022.< /p>

The south London venue's license was suspended after a concert by Afro-pop singer Asake, when large numbers of people attempted to enter in the lobby.

Gaby Hutchinson, 23, and Rebecca Ikumelo, 33, were killed. Another woman remains in hospital.

The Metropolitan Police say they are "focused on establishing exactly what happened this evening tragic."

The first artists in the reopened venue will be Nirvana UK, a Nirvana tribute band, and The Smyths, who perform tracks by The Smiths.< /p>
