Buhari visits King Charles at Buckingham Palace

Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari visited the British monarch, King Charles, at Buckingham Palace on Wednesday.

The presidency shared photos of the monarch shaking hands with the Nigerian leader on Wednesday.

“The King welcomed the President of Nigeria to Buckingham Palace for an audience this afternoon,” Buckingham Palace tweeted.

Mr. Buhari left Nigeria for the UK on Monday for what his office said was a "routine medical check". He is expected to return in the second week of November, according to a presidential spokesman, Femi Adesina.

He had just returned from a six-day official visit to Seoul, South Korea's capital, and chaired an "emergency" meeting of the National Security Council (NSC) at State House, Abuja before to leave for the UK.

No details have yet been provided on what the two leaders discussed.
