Campaign rally: Delta APC condemns alleged closure of roads linking Warri Stadium

Ahead of the campaign launch, campaign organization Delta APC condemned the alleged closure of roads leading to Warri Township Stadium in Warri South Local Government Area in Delta State.

The stadium is the venue for the APC Presidential Rally and Delta State Campaign Flag scheduled for Saturday, November 19, 2022.

The presidential rally and the national flag have been scheduled as key events, as the anniversary party begins its vigorous campaign in its bid to seize control of Delta State from the authorities of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

The campaign is expected to cover every nook and cranny of the country in the coming months.

In a statement through Ima Niboro, director of communications and media strategy, the marketing campaign firm disapproved of what it defined as "treacherous avenue closures aimed at blocking the big events of Saturday".

According to him, "Records relating to us indicate that the Chairman of Warri South Town Council, Dr Michael Tidi, has ordered the closure of the main roads to Warri Township Stadium with effect from Monday 14th November until Monday 28th November.

“Closed roads include Ubeji roundabout, Okere square and Edjeba community road from SPDC gate. He no longer provided a reasonable reason for the closure, but went to the advance to provide very challenging "Routes of Opportunity" including Elizabeth Close for Ubeji Roundabout users, Eboh Road for Okere Square and DBS Warri route for Edjeba Community Road customers.

"Delta APC Campaign Organization views the Warri South Local Authority Council Chairman's move as an attempt to thwart and sabotage the flag of Presidential campaigns and celebration governors through the ruling PDP in the Delta State.

"Faced with its dismal overall governance performance, the PDP administration headed by Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa has absolutely understood that its poor governance portends an electoral disaster to come in next year's elections, and that she resorted to malice, illegality, and every dubious method practicable to thwart their inevitable defeat.

"We need to ensure that the APC in Delta State is tough, resilient, and able to crush the childish obstacles posed by the use of Okowa and his flattering minions, including said Tidi.< /p>

“The campaign organization is determined to rescind the closure order, and during this time, alternative routes to access the stadium on Flag Day will be secured and communicated to our many participants and supporters.

>

"We ask our many contributors to remain law abiding and comply with instructions in order to be released on alternate routes to the stadium," Niboro said.
