Since being charged with the murder of her daughter in 2011, Casey Anthony has remained a staple of tabloid coverage for more than a decade. Now she's speaking out and telling her side of the story in a Peacock documentary titled "Casey Anthony: Where the Truth Lies."

Anthony's 2-year-old daughter, Caylee, was reported missing by her grandmother on July 15, 2008, and was later found dead in the woods near their family home, according to The New York Times . Photos of her party in the weeks after Caylee's death surfaced and she was soon charged with murder, manslaughter and child abuse. However, his defense team later argued that Caylee drowned in a swimming pool and Casey did not report her death for fear of a murder charge, and Anthony was found not guilty. Anthony, then 25, was convicted of four misdemeanors for lying to investigators.

Here's what we know about the upcoming documentary.

Plot "Casey Anthony: Where the Truth Lies"

The documentary features Anthony's first on-camera interview since being found not guilty of her daughter's murder. "Since his acquittal in 2011, public opinion of Casey Anthony has been largely shaped by media convinced of his guilt," showrunner Alexandra Dean said in a statement, per Variety. "What emerges over several recorded interviews over six months is a startling psychological portrait of Casey Anthony and a full account of what she says happened to her daughter, weighed against multiple sources of potential evidence. I believe that the result will surprise many and cause the American public to look at this story in a new light." Representatives for Dean did not immediately respond to POPSUGAR's request for comment.

"Casey Anthony: Where the Truth Lies" Release Date
