Casualties in clashes between a group from Biafra and Cameroonian soldiers

Five members of the Rapid Intervention Battalion (BIR), a Cameroonian military unit, were reportedly killed by separatists suspected of being militant members of the League of Nations of Biafra, BnL.

The personnel of a Cameroonian military unit reportedly invaded the camp of the Biafra group on Saturday morning.

Reports say that BIR men, before invading the camp, knocked down two wooden poles with Biafra flags about two kilometers from the separatist camp as at 9am in Isangele but were quickly resisted by separatist militants.

The separatist militants reportedly opened fire on the soldiers first and killed five officers while he reportedly lost one man.

Residents who heard gunshots reportedly fled their community for safety reasons.

Local reporters have learned that two military drone cameras were seen flying around the communities last night before the attack this morning.

The head of the BnL Bakassi chapter, Ita Bassey, confirmed the incident to journalists. He said the camp of a partner vigilante group was overrun by Cameroonian forces this morning.

He said the Cameroonian forces came with three gunboats but did not fire a shot until the boys opened fire on them, "they thought there was no one there. in the camp they wanted to go and take all the arms and ammunition but met their Waterloos. As the boys opened fire on them a few kilometers from the camp."
