Sri Lankan all-rounder Chamika Karunaratne suspended for one year from all forms of cricket
The decision comes following a disciplinary investigation into incidents at the T20 World Cup in Australia.
The SLC opened the investigation after Danushka Gunathilaka was charged with four counts of sex without consent.
They did not specify how 26-year-old Karunaratne breached "several clauses" of his player contract.
However, he said the versatile bowler had pleaded guilty to all charges against him. He was also fined $5,000 (£4,152), the SLC board said.
"Given the seriousness of the violations committed by Karunaratne, the Board of Inquiry through its report recommended the SLC Executive Committee to strongly warn the player to refrain from further violations and impose a sanction which will have no impact on his cricketing career," the statement added.
A three-person panel is investigating Gunathilaka's case, though the 31-year-old hitter has previously been suspended by Sri Lanka.
Gunathilaka was arrested a few hours after the last game of the FIFA World Cup Sri Lanka - a four-wicket semi-final defeat by eventual champions England on November 5.
He was later charged with sexual assault and released on bail last week.
