Chelsea prepare for 'frenzied' transfer mission as Todd Boehly targets Tottenham pariah and Everton duo

Chelsea are reportedly set for a 'frenzied' end to the transfer window as Todd Boehly is set to make several more signings to bolster his squad.

The Boehly consortium completed their takeover of Chelsea last year and were quick to establish themselves on the transfer market.

They have been the biggest spenders in the Premier League this summer, as more than £250m have been spent on new signings. The club's additions included Raheem Sterling, Wesley Fofana, Kalidou Koulibaly and Marc Cucurella.

Despite this, Chelsea struggled on the pitch as they got stuck around the middle spots. The Blues have also changed coaches this season with the replacement of Thomas Tuchel by Graham Potter.

The former Brighton manager finds himself in the middle of a tough race and it now looks unlikely that they will qualify for the Champions League next season.

Boehly is looking to solve its problems with more new signings as more than £150million has already been spent this month. Mykhaylo Mudryk was their most expensive addition and they also paid around £9m in loan fees to bring in Joao Felix from Atletico Madrid.

According to The Telegraph, Chelsea are far from done as they "prepare for a frantic end to the January transfer window".

Their report says Chelsea have "shown interest" in Everton duo Anthony Gordon and Amadou Onana.

Gordon was previously linked with the Blues this summer following his impressive breakthrough season at Everton in 2021/22. They ended up looking elsewhere as the Toffees held around £60million for their academy product.

The report notes Newcastle are 'interested in Gordon' but 'remains on Chelsea's radar'. They are said to be considering making an offer which would see the Englishman return to Everton on loan until the end of the season.

As for Onana, Everton are 'very reluctant' to sell him as he only joined the club in the summer from Lille. He's actually been one of their best players this term after the Toffees beat West Ham to sign him.

Chelsea are looking to exploit 'Everton's financial fair play issues and need to raise funds' and they are reportedly looking to loan Onana back to his current club if a transfer can be completed this month.

The report later adds that Chelsea have 'informed' Tottenham about Yves Bissouma's availability. The midfielder has barely featured for Spurs this season following his big move from Brighton.

The Blues 'have received no encouragement' from Tottenham, so a deal is unlikely.

It is also stated in the report that Chelsea remain interested in Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo, but they will 'also consider temporary midfield options if they cannot land any of their top targets'. Barcelona's Franck Kessie would be a 'possible loan target' in this case.
