Body, Senator Kebbi applauds Adeleke

The Conference of Nigerian Political Parties (CNPP) has commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for the conduct of the Osun State gubernatorial election, while congratulating the candidate of the People's Democratic Party ( PDP), Senator Ademola Adeleke, who carried the day.

The CNPP noted Osun's poll as an improvement over Ekiti's. PDP's Adeleke polled 403,371 people to defeat APC's incumbent Governor Adegboyega Oyetola, who won 375,027 votes.

The umbrella body of all registered political parties in the country, in a statement yesterday by its Secretary General, Chief Willy Ezugwu, congratulated Adeleke and said he deserved the victory.

Arguing that the electoral arbiter had once again given Nigerians hope for credible polls in 2023, CNPP said that “with the observable improvement in the electoral process in recent times, INEC has continued to inspire more confidence in voters across the country. This is evident in the strong voter turnout in Osun."

Urging INEC to continue to improve the use of technology in future elections to ensure credible results, CNPP has tasked Adeleke with restoring the trust placed in it by the people of Osun by giving residents the good governance they sincerely desire.

ALSO, Senator Yahaya Abdullahi (PDP, Kebbi North) congratulated his party, Adeleke and the people of Osun on the election result.

Speaking to the Guardian in Birnin Kebbi yesterday, the Mallamawan Kabi and former Senate Majority Leader, who recently defected from the APC, expressed his joy at the successful exit of the PDP in Osun, saying that the liberated people should choose light over darkness. /p>

His words: "The people of Osun have decided, through a hard-fought election, that power truly belongs to the people. This victory is a critical lesson for all politicians and political leaders that injustice, denial duties and the imposition of candidates will lead to a loss of confidence of the people and ultimately to the political ruin of the party.

“I commend INEC for the transparency and electronic transmission of results to its public portal in record time. deadlines, which has now become law. Osun's election will now be a litmus test for INEC's readiness for the 2023 elections."
