Coin and Oxfam launch Christmas charity initiative

GOODS DO GOOD: Coin partners again with Oxfam Italia to launch charity initiative in time for the holiday season.

Named "Aggiungi Amore" or "Add Love" in English, the project aims to provide underprivileged people with communities in need with 2.6 million gallons of drinking water.

The Italian retailer and association tapped fashion designer Alessandro Enriquez to create graphics in limited edition dressing a collection of products for sale in select Coin stores across the country and online. Additionally, Oxfam volunteers will be present in Coin stores from 25 November until Christmas.

Coin's connection to Oxfam dates back to 2013, when the duo began a three-year partnership in for the empowerment of women. They came together from 2020 around accessibility to water, considered as a tool to fight against inequalities.

Oxfam estimates that a quarter of the world's population, or about two billion people, have little or no access to drinking water. The initiative supported by Coin will allow the association to distribute potabilizing add-ons; personal care kits; install water buckets and mobile tanks, as well as hand pumps.

"This year we want to reach as many people as possible, especially children who suffer more than anyone, and women who provide for the basic needs of their families and are often forced to walk long distances daily to provide a minimum amount of fresh water,” said Marta Pieri, corporate partnership manager at Oxfam Italia "Every donation will make a difference."
