Concerns over appointment of ex-army spokesman Enenche to Peter Obi's campaign team
There was an outcry on social media following the appointment of Major General John Enenche rtd, as a member of the Labor Party Presidential Advisory Council Peter Obi.
Enenche had claimed that photos and videos of the Lekki Tollgate massacre at the EndSARS protest had been photoshopped
Supporters of Labor Party presidential candidate Obi have mourned Enenche's nomination, insisting he is not worthy of any position on Obi's campaign team because of his role in covering up the October 2020 Lekki massacre.
Enenche, a former director of information at the Nigerian Defense Headquarters, said the report of soldiers shooting at protesters was mere allegations.
Enenche was among Obi's 1,234 campaign teams as a North Central representative.
Supporters called for the immediate removal of the former army spokesman and accused his supporters of being hypocrites.
Twitter user, @Esteembehemoth tweeted "I am of the opinion that Major General John Enenche should either seek a public apology for the role he played during the #EndSars struggle or be forced to resign .
"Anything other than that is like spitting on the graves of those who lost their lives at 8:10:20 p.m.
Another Twitter user, @I_Am_Ilemona "Maj Gen John Enenche (rtd), who appears on the Labor CCP as representing the North Central, once called the Lekki massacre 'photoshopped'.
