A Federal High Court sitting in Lagos on Monday received a complaint filed by Adegboyega Lawal against his ex-wife, Folashade Olalude and the Nigerian policemen.

Mr. Lawal is the new husband of a famous Yoruba actress and filmmaker, Elizabeth Anjorin, commonly known as Lizzy Anjorin.

He dragged his estranged wife, Folashade, to court in a human rights action filed as FHC/L/CS/1488/22, alongside the Deputy Inspector General of Police, Area 2, Onikan, Lagos, his officer-in-charge Surveillance Unit, and a Mrs. Tina, an Investigative Police with Zone 2.

Mr. Lawal, in the lawsuit filed by his attorney, Mr. B. Bello, asked the court "for a statement that the continued harassment, humiliation, spreading lies and social media abuse against him and his family by his ex-wife, is vindictive.

They also sought "an injunctive order enjoining the second and third defendants, whether by themselves, their officers, agents, servants, private or acting through any person or persons in any way whatsoever, to continue to harass, humiliate, embarrass and threaten to detain plaintiff based on the first defendant's false and unsubstantiated allegations.”

"A sum of 5 million naira and 1 million naira against his ex-wife and the police, respectively, on the basis of aggravated and exemplary damages for continued harassment, humiliation, spreading lies and abuse of social networks against him and his family. For the imposition of aggravated and exemplary damages for his continued invitation, harassment, intimidation and humiliation by the second through fourth defendants at the request of the first defendant." But his estranged wife, Ms. Olalude, the first defendant in the lawsuit, in her counter affidavit filed by her lawyer, Wahab Shittu, asked the court to dismiss Mr. Lawal's case as she seeks to truncate an ongoing police investigation against him. .

She said they were both living as husband and wife at 7 New Oko-Oba Road, Fagba, Lagos and their second child was three to four months old when the applicant suddenly ran away from their marital home, abandoner and children without cause in 2020.

Ms Olalude also said that he had stopped fulfilling his marital obligations and responsibilities, including paying the rent for the house, the children's school fees and the maintenance allowances for the children.< /p>

She said she later learned that Mr Lawal had started a relationship with Nollywood actress Lizzy Anjorin, and that they had both launched a vitriolic attack on her and her children on various social media platforms for the applicant to let go of marital responsibilities. to her and the two children from their marriage.
