Cross River: Support group endorses LP party chairman as guber candidate

A group under the umbrella of the Coalition of Labor Support Groups has criticized the determination of Peter Obi support groups to back any gubernatorial candidate other than Ogar Osim, the Labor party chairman, who claims he is the flag bearer of the party.

According to the group, LP State Chairman Ogar Osim remained the LP's gubernatorial candidate in Cross River State. The group further stated that Peter Obi's comments on Arise News on Monday, March 13, 2023 were misinterpreted and did not translate into an endorsement.

Speaking to reporters from Cross River, the leader of the group, Mr. Odu Mikel, explained that: "Our attention has been drawn to the alleged endorsement of a particular gubernatorial candidate, in a video that In this video, our gubernatorial candidate, His Excellency Peter Obi, is misinterpreted as having endorsed the gubernatorial candidate in Cross River State for Saturday's gubernatorial election March 18.

"The alleged endorsement video is being misunderstood, misinterpreted and taken out of context, so it is the work of desperate politicians who want to misrepresent our pending president's interview. We should be aware and avoid all their antics.

"Peter Obi cannot support another candidate when we have a capable and resilient gubernatorial candidate, Ambassador Ogar Osim, who is one hundred percent obedient.
