Daniel Radcliffe Says He's "Definitely Not Looking" For A Role In The Harry Potter TV Series

Daniel Radcliffe agrees to sit on the sidelines in Harry Potter's upcoming TV series Max.

The series, which as previously announced is set to last 10 years, will feature an all-new cast. The project is expected to take a few years to air, with sources suggesting a 2025/2026 premiere.

"I understand they are really trying to start fresh and I'm sure whoever is doing them will want to leave their own mark on it and probably won't want to figure out how to get old Harry to make an appearance somewhere," Radcliffe told ComicBook.com. "So I'm definitely not looking for him in any way. whatever. But I wish them, obviously, all the luck in the world and I'm very happy that this torch has passed. But I don't think he needs me to make it happen physically."

"This new Max Original series will dive deep into each of the iconic books that fans have continued to enjoy for all these years," Casey Bloys, president and CEO of HBO and Max Content, said of the project at Max's streaming event in April, which he also assured fans would be 'a "faithful adaptation".

Max will produce in association with Warner Bros. Television and Bronte Film and TV. Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling will serve as executive producer along with Neil Blair and Ruth Kenley-Letts.

Radcliffe would next be seen in Miracle Workers: End Times, which premiered on TBS on Monday, July 10.
