Delta Group resolves to work for Atiku victory in 2023

Delta Unity Group, a group within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) family, said yesterday that it will work diligently with other stakeholders in Delta State, the Niger Delta and the south-south zone to ensure the victory of the party in 2023 presidential election.

The group, in a statement signed by its Chairman Protem and former Speaker of the State Legislative Assembly, Peter Onwusanya, at the end of an extended meeting held in Kwale in Ndokwa West Local Council of the State, has urged Nigerians to vote for the party's presidential candidate, Alhaji Abubakar Atiku, to 'save Nigeria'.

The statement also called on Delta PDP leaders at all levels to show greater commitment to party unity and put its interest first in all their interactions and activities, even if he advised the party's state chairman, Mr. . Kingsley Esiso, to always play the role of impartial arbiter in handling all emerging disputes.

"Without prejudice to the ongoing appeal regarding Delta PDP's candidacy for the 2023 gubernatorial election, the Delta Unity Group strongly supports Olorogun David Edevbie as the party's legitimate and bona fide nominee, in accordance with the unambiguous declarative judgment of the Federal High Court, Abuja, and pledges to ensure full victory for the PDP in the 2023 gubernatorial election.

"All Deltans embrace the Olorogun David Edevbie modernization program as the only sure manifesto for the sustainable socio-economic development and growth of the state and the prosperity of all Deltans," the statement read.< /p>

While instructing the party's national leadership to set a characteristic example in upholding the rule of law, the group urged the PDP leadership to promptly forward the nomination of Olorogun David Edevbie to the National Electoral Commission (INEC) in accordance with the court order in effect unless and until there is an order to the contrary.

The group therefore urged all party members to refrain from making negative and provocative statements about party candidates at all levels in order to ensure unity, peace and holiness within the Delta PDP family.
