Despite political differences, Atiku and Okowa rejoice with Wike on his birthday

Despite their political differences, People's Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar extended his best wishes to Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike on his birthday.

Mr. Wike turned 55 on December 13.

“As you turn 55 today, I pray that all lines fall in pleasant places for you. Enjoy your special day,” Mr. Atiku told Mr. Wike in a post on Tuesday. Twitter.

PDP vice-presidential candidate Ifeanyi Okowa, who is the governor of Delta State, also sent his best wishes to Mr. Wike.

“The people of your State, South-South and Nigerians are proud of your remarkable and commendable achievements in the administration of Rivers,” Mr. Okowa said in his birthday greetings to Mr. Wike.< /p>

Mr Okowa's message was contained in a statement on Tuesday from his spokesperson, Olisa Ifeajika.

The governor called Mr. Wike his "brother".

"As you celebrate your birthday this year, it is my prayer and that of the government and people of Delta that God grant you greater wisdom and good health to continue to serve Him in this way. only to humanity," Mr Okowa said.

Mr. Wike has had a bitter battle with Atiku and Mr. Okowa as well as the national leadership of the PDP since Governor de Rivers lost the PDP presidential primary in May.

He relentlessly attacked the integrity of both men, including PDP National President Iyorchia Ayu.

The bitterness of Governor de Rivers, from his several remarks, is that the next Nigerian President should come from the southern region, where he comes from since President Muhammadu Buhari is from the north.

Since the return of democratic rule in Nigeria on May 29, 1999, the choice of the country's president has alternated between north and south.

Many people believe that the rift between Atiku and Mr. Wike grew when Atiku chose Mr. Okowa as his running mate instead of Mr. Wike, against the recommendation of some PDP members.

“We (the people of Rivers) have done our part. We have never betrayed anyone because it is not in our blood to betray.
