DHQ clarifies statement on Owo Church attack, says only one mastermind arrested
Defence Headquarters (DHQ) has clarified a statement made by Chief of the Defense Staff, Lucky Irabor, on the arrest of the masterminds of the recent attack on a church in Owo, North America. 'Ondo State.

Mr. Irabor said the suspects, the majority of whom were arrested in various communities in Kogi, would be paraded before the public in due course.
“We had wanted to present the suspects to the public immediately, but we could not because some investigations are still ongoing,” he said.
He assured that in due course the suspects and others involved in audacious attacks over the past few months would be brought to the public.
His position was echoed by Ondo State Governor Rotimi Akeredolu, who wrote on Twitter that he had been informed of the arrest of the suspects.
Following the CDS statement, Nigerians have taken to social media to wonder how one of the arrested suspects, Idris Ojo, who allegedly escaped from Kuje prison in July, was able to launch an attack in Owo in June.

In Wednesday's statement from defense spokesman Jimmy Akpor, DHQ said Idris Abdulmalik-Omeiza was the mastermind of the church attack, not Idris Ojo.
He added that Mr. Ojo was one of the Boko Haram terrorists who escaped from Kuje prison and had no connection to the Owo attack.
