Drew Barrymore Brings Back Talk Show Despite Hollywood Strikes

Striking Hollywood writers said they would hold a picket strike action surrounding the taping of Drew Barrymore's talk show when it returns later this month.

The actress and television host stated that the return of the series would comply with the rules of Sag-Aftra and the Writers Guild of America (WGA) strikes.

She said that the series "may have my name on it, but this one is bigger than me."

But the WGA responded: "The Guild will continue to picket strike for shows that are in production during the strike."

The guild has been on strike since early May, and actors joined them in July in due to concerns about wages, working conditions and the industry's use of artificial intelligence (AI).

The spokesperson for WGA director Jason Gordon told Vanity Fair, “The Drew Barrymore Show is a hit TV show covered by the WGA. The show has not been broadcast since the strike began on May 2, but has now (unfortunately) decided to return without its writers. does not work on the program when it returns,
