ECA delivers final round of Ukraine Relief Fund refugee support funding

August 30 – The European Club Association (ECA) Relief Fund has distributed its third and final round of project funding to help Ukrainian refugees across Europe.

The 15-month Ukraine Relief Fund has distributed €1m in funds raised by 24 clubs across Europe who have each pledged €50,000.

The project was announced at the March 2022 General Assembly by ECA President Nasser Al-Khelaifi to support clubs' efforts to help Ukrainian refugees, while many have also offered to find a safe place for young Ukrainian footballers.

Since then, 30 projects have received support from the Relief Fund, managed by the ECA Relief Committee chaired by ECA Vice-President Dariusz Mioduski.

The latest round of funded projects included support for:

FC Shakhtar Donetsk FC Vast (Mykolaiv Football Club) FSC Mariupol MFC Metalurgy Skoruk F.C.

Commenting on the allocation of remaining funds to clubs, Dariusz Mioduski, ECA Vice President and Chairman of the ECA Relief Committee, said: “We at ECA are all committed to helping clubs and allow them to continue their excellent work. to support Ukrainian children and families displaced by this tragic war, sparked by the invasion of Ukraine in February 2022.

“The allocation of the remaining funds to the final five projects is a good time for me to once again thank all the clubs and individuals involved for their dedication and hard work. A total of 30 projects have benefited from the ECA Relief Fund for Ukraine and their work will continue. »

The list of all approved projects, including those in the third round, are: AC Sparta Praha, AS Trencin, Athletic Club, Celtic FC, FC Chikhura Sachkhere, FC Shakhtar Donetsk, FC Slovan Liberec, FC Vast (Football Club Mykolaiv), FC Veres Rivne, FC Zimbru, FSC Mariupol, GNK Dinamo Zagreb, Heart of Midlothian FC, Legia Warszawa, Maccabi Haifa F.C, MFC Metalurg, Nõmme Kalju FC, SJK Seinäjoki, SK Slavia Praha, SK Slovan Bratislava, Skoruk FC, Sporting Clube de Portugal, Trabzonspor AS, Wisla Krakow.
