ECA to host workshop on new financial sustainability rules

November 11 – The European Club Association (ECA) is hosting its first Financial Sustainability Workshop next week with over 130 delegates expected in Geneva, Switzerland.

The ECA, UEFA and FIFA will present the new UEFA Club Licensing and Financial Viability Regulations, as well as the new FIFA Clearing House Regulations. A panel discussion on the upcoming FIFA Agents Regulations will also take place.

The ECA says the new financial regulations "represent an important step for the whole European club landscape" and "provide a real path to stability and sustainability for clubs of all sizes, as they attack costs directly for the first time, while retaining, evolving and strengthening the most effective elements of the current Financial Fair Play (FFP) system.”

Hugo Hamon, Head of Financial Strategy and Operations at ECA, said: "The ECA Financial Sustainability Workshop will be a unique event in that it is the first workshop of the ECA focused specifically on financial and regulatory issues Bringing together the club financial community is a good way for ECA to ensure that clubs correctly understand and achieve proper implementation of new UEFA regulations and reforms . »

The two-day event, November 15-16, will focus on the first day on the new financial sustainability rules, while the second day will see a presentation by FIFA officials on the new House Regulations compensation from FIFA.
