El DeBarge arrested for possession of weapons and drugs

"Rhythm of the Night" singer El DeBarge doesn't dance until dawn because he was arrested in the middle of the night... after an altercation with cops at a station -service.
Burbank police tell TMZ...that officers handcuffed El around 3:40 a.m. Sunday. They didn't arrest him, he was already stopped at a petrol station when they noticed he had expired tags - but when they approached they said an expandable metal stick was fine in view in El's vehicle.
The baton is an illegal weapon, and this prompted the cops to search the vehicle further...that's when they allegedly found pepper spray and suspected narcotics.
They also discovered that DeBarge did not have a valid driver's license.
The singer has been arrested and charged with multiple charges...including possession of a lead cane or baton, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of paraphernalia intended for to drug use. Law enforcement tells us they believe the narcotic is heroin.
You'll recall cops arrested him for felony vandalism in 2018... after he allegedly took a key from a guy's windshield during an argument.
In regards to this arrest, we are told that DeBarge has posted $25,000 bond and is due back in court in March.
