EPL: Chelsea legend tells Boehly player to sign in place of Cristiano Ronaldo

Chelsea legend Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink wants the club under manager Todd Boehly to opt for Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane instead of former Manchester United striker Cristiano Ronaldo.

Ronaldo has been linked with a move to Chelsea since leaving Man United earlier this week.

But Hasselbaink wants Boehly to sign Kane from Tottenham rather than Ronaldo, who is currently a free agent.

"I would have made Ronaldo for Chelsea this summer, for a year, but obviously now I think the priorities are bigger in the summer," Hasselbaink told Grosvenor Casinos.

"I would try to persuade [Harry] Kane to come. It would be a very controversial decision, but he will surely want to win things. He surely knows that he will not win with Spurs."

He added: "He would surely want to be with the club who are going to go there and who are going to try to win trophies or who are going to be closer to winning the trophies, so for me they should go to him."< /p>
