EPL: Gary Neville blames four Man Utd stars after 6-3 loss to Man City

Manchester United legend Gary Neville has blamed four Red Devils players after the side's 6-3 Premier League loss to Manchester City on Sunday.

Neville said Christian Eriksen, Bruno Fernandes, Scott McTominay and Marcus Rashford all gave their opponents the ball easily in the first half.

Six goals from Erling Haaland and Phil Foden gave Pep Guardiola's men all three points against Erik ten Hag's side at the Etihad Stadium.

Speaking on The Gary Neville podcast after the game, Neville said: "I don't think if you come out of this game analyzing Manchester United's performance you should say 'why Casemiro didn't didn't he start alongside McTominay? is a very big mistake by Erik ten Hag', I don't feel like I'm sitting here at all.

“I feel the players he has put on this pitch have been confident together and I know there has been a disruption of the international and the queen pass - which is not useful when the team is on a good run but all teams have had to deal with this.

"It was unforced errors, anxiety on the ball, lack of composure. I'm not talking about players in defensive positions who are in a hurry, I'm talking about midfielders and forwards; Rashford, Eriksen, Fernandes, McTominay - I could name more - they all gave unnecessarily in the first half.

"It just brings additional negative vibes throughout the team when your best players don't hold the ball well, they should have been better, forcing it way too soon.

"It was almost like when they got it 'we have a counter-attack, we have to put it behind City' but to do that you have to play those two or three passes into midfield to put in You can't just think you can play a pass, knock it down - even if they're not City's best centre-backs - they've read that, it's become very simple for City defenders to do in the face of it. >
