EPL: Guardiola names player who sank Man City in 2-1 loss to Brentford

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has named striker Ivan Toney as the player who caused his side problems in their 2-1 loss to Brentford in the Premier League on Saturday.

Toney was impressive for Brentford as they beat Man City at the Etihad Stadium.

The England striker scored twice as Thomas Frank's side beat the Premier League champions in front of their home fans.

However, Phil Foden scored a goal for Man City against the visitors.

"We couldn't win a ball because when Toney sent the ball in he created problems, when Toney kept the ball and played with the three players in the middle he created problems.

"And we couldn't get the ball back at the end," Guardiola said in his post-match press conference after the match.

The result means Man City still retain second position on the log behind Arsenal with 32 points from 14 matches.
