EPL: I love him, he saved us - Ian Wright hails Arsenal star

Arsenal legend Ian Wright has hailed Aaron Ramsdale for 'saving' the Gunners at Anfield in Sunday's Premier League against Liverpool.

He said these saves made by the England international against the Reds could be crucial in the Premier League title race.

The former Sheffield United goalkeeper put in an outstanding performance at Anfield to limit the damage for his side.

The Premier League leaders had a superb start on Sunday, scoring two goals in the opening 28 minutes through Gabriel Martinelli and Gabriel Jesus.

Arsenal were two goals clear in 28 minutes at Anfield, but Mohamed Salah pulled one back for the hosts before the break.

Liverpool dominated the second half, with Roberto Firmino's late header taking some of the spoils.

“I love Aaron Ramsdale,” Wright said during the BBC Day 2 game. "If Arsenal win the title, it's thanks to these saves.

"We could easily have lost this game with those chances in the second half."

Wright noted that for a club to win a major title, such as the Premier League, they will need a top goalkeeper, describing Ramsdale as a top goalkeeper.

"He saved us today, he absolutely saved us." He added.
