EPL: It's very disappointing - Rio Ferdinand reacts as Ten Hag disciplines Man Utd striker

Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand isn't too happy with striker Marcus Rashford after he was let go by manager Erik ten Hag for their Premier League game against Wolves on Saturday due to of an "internal disciplinary problem".

Recall that Ten Hag had confirmed before kick-off that the 25-year-old England striker had been appointed as a substitute as a sanction for a disciplinary problem.

But Ferdinand has now backed Ten Hag's decision to maintain discipline in his Man United squad, adding it was disappointing that Rashford was dropped to the bench against Wolves due to a disciplinary issue.< /p>

"In 90 minutes it's [Rashford's] best return for goals and assists in his Man United career, it's disappointing," Ferdinand said on BT Sport.

"You come here as a fan and you want to see your best players play, he's in good shape, he's one of the best players, one of the top names on the squad roster right now , so it's very disappointing to see.

"But along the same lines, you're glad the manager is staying fit in that if things happen behind the scenes that he's not happy with, people are disciplined."

Rashford scored the only goal of the game in the second half as Man United beat Wolves 1-0.
