EPL: Mikael Silvestre tells Ten Hag how to handle Ronaldo

Former Manchester United star Mikael Silvestre has sent a clear message to club manager Erik ten Hag urging him to give striker Cristiano Ronaldo more minutes.

Silvestre wants Ten Hag to keep Ronaldo happy and fit at Old Trafford.

Ronaldo has been mostly limited to substitute appearances under Ten Hag in the Premier League.

"I think Cristiano [Ronaldo] can add to the squad," Silvestre told Bettingexpert.

"Whether it's the Premier League, the Europa League or the start of the cups. When you score more than 20 goals from one season to the next. He hasn't aged five years.

"He may be less mobile than others, than Marcus Rashford, for example, but the best clubs need the best strikers.

"It is important that he plays as much as possible and that he is available for the team.

"After that, the manager has to find the balance to keep everyone fit, focused and happy.

"And that's why it's hard to be on the bench. Nobody likes him, that's for sure."
