EPL: They're in trouble, trailing – Darren Lewis slams Premier League top four

Football pundit Darren Lewis says Chelsea have been lagging both on the pitch and in the transfer market this summer.

Chelsea have only been able to sign two players in Raheem Sterling from Manchester City and Kalidou Koulibaly from Napoli.

Blues manager Thomas Tuchel has sounded the warning of a bad season ahead if new club owner Todd Boehly doesn't bring in more quality stars.

Chelsea rivals Tottenham and Arsenal have been very active in the market filling every empty space and Lewis believes the Blues are in a bit of a pickle.

Lewis said Chelsea were "behind" and "in a bit of a mess" following Thomas Tuchel's men's 4-0 loss to Arsenal in a pre-season friendly on Sunday morning.

However, it's not just on the pitch that Chelsea have suffered setbacks this summer.

“Todd Boehly was beaten in the fist for Raphinha, Lewandowski & it looks like Jules Koundé…” he added.

"Chelsea are trailing. They looked so poor against Arsenal. They look like they're in a bit of a mess."
