Vitale, 84, posted on Twitter that he will need six weeks of radiation therapy for the treat .

"I plan to fight like hell to be ready to call the games when hoops season academics will begin in the fall,” Vitale wrote.

Vitale underwent surgery in July and was on vocal rest for 6-8 weeks. It was then that it was discovered that his past problems had returned.
