Former Super Eagles striker Akpala gets coaching job in Belgium
Former Super Eagles striker Joseph Akpala has been appointed assistant coach of Belgian Pro League side KV Korjrik.
KV Korjrik announced the appointment on his official website on Friday.
"KV Korjrik expands the technical team with Jimmy Hempte and Joseph Akpala. They join the staff of Adnan Custovic and start working as assistant coaches," read a statement on the club's official website.
Akpala returns to familiar territory after starting his professional career in Belgium with Sporting Charleroi in 2008.
The 36-year-old was Belgium's top scorer with 18 goals in 2018.
The former Nigeria international also played for Club Brugge and KV Oostende.
Akpala last played for Romanian top-flight club Steaua Bucharest.
He has made nine appearances for Nigeria with one goal to his name.
