Fashion connects Sergio Hudson, Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Amazon

Amazon is making more fashion connections — the latest bringing together Prime Video's new spy show Priyanka Chopra Jonas "Citadel," the two-and-a-half-year-old luxury retailer and designer Sergio Hudson.

In Friday's premiere episode, Chopra Jonas' character Nadia wears a recreation of the dress Hudson's signature cut-out midi, first seen in its 2021 collection.

To come full circle, Hudson created looks inspired by the fearless character and are on sale at Amazon's Luxury Stores. In addition to Hudson's take on Nadia, the storefront sells complementary accessories and jewelry from other brands, including pre-loved styles from Chanel and Gucci.

The partnership also represents a coming-of-age moment for Hudson, which launched its line in 2014 with an aesthetic focused on strong tailoring.

"When I designed this dress we were in the middle of a pandemic, I wanted my client to have always look and feel their best in such an uncertain time," Hudson said. "A lot of my design inspiration comes from iconic TV characters, so it was exciting for me to connect the points this way."

Amazon has been vying to grow its fashion business for years - with Luxury Stores its latest run in the world of creators.

And while it's a work in progress, this partnership shows the potential for the expanse of the Amazon empire, which can obtain the goods, sell them and promote them under one gigantic umbrella.
